About the Universality of the Billiard ball model

چکیده
Block cellular automata (BCA) make local, parallel, synchronous and uniform updates of innnite lattices. In the one-dimensional case, there exist BCA with 11 states which are universal for computation. The Billiard ball model of Margolus is a reversible two-dimensional BCA which is able to simulate any two-register automaton and is thus universal. This simulation is achieved by embedding a logical circuitry with balls. The construction uses Fredkin gate and conservative and reversible logics.

Analysis and Application of Rigid Body Dynamics Theory in Billiards Sport
This article conducts mechanical analysis of billiards and studies its motion laws. For convenience, only situations as the ball arm bats the billiards in the horizontal direction are considered. Besides, collision between one billiard ball and another or between a ball and the “KEXING” is assumed to be elastic. The following cases are quantitatively analyzed based on the rigid body dynamics th...
متن کاملAiming strategy error analysis and verification of a billiard training system
A low cost training system is proposed for regular billiard game tutoring. We describe the elements to construct an interactive computer system which helps train billiard players in enhancing their skills. Most research on computer billiard has focused on creating highly competitive billiard playing programs, based on various search algorithms. Game playing strategies are embedded into these pr...
متن کاملImplementation of Logical Operations on a Domino Substrate
This paper presents some simple ideas about domino gates. Domino gates are implementations of logical operations using toppling dominoes to represent the movement of information (bits). The actively toppling domino represents a logic one, and absence of toppling represents logic zero. The domino model can be used as a representation of single-shot wave gates in unconstrained media, such as sub-...
متن کاملNon-smooth modelling of billiard- and superbilliard-ball collisions
A description of billiard-ball collisions using a ‘discontinuous’ model is presented considering a two-step situation corresponding to the ball–ball interaction followed by ball-supporting surface interaction. It is applied to the inelastic impact of a cue ball having arbitrary pivotment and ‘English’ spins against an object ball initially at rest. This formulation provides a simplified approxi...
متن کاملComputing Naturally in the Billiard Ball Model
Fredkin’s Billiard Ball Model (BBM) is considered one of the fundamental models of collision-based computing, and it is essentially based on elastic collisions of mobile billiard balls. Moreover, fixed mirrors or reflectors are brought into the model to deflect balls to complete the computation. However, the use of fixed mirrors is “physically unrealistic” and makes the BBM not perfectly moment...
